Grace and faith

The good news is that grace has nothing to do with you. Grace existed before existence. Another way of saying this is that the grace of God is the spring. Grace and faith work together, and they must be kept in balance. Sometimes we read a passage of writing that is so familiar that we do not stop to think about what it is really saying. In this verse, there is a profound truth that is decreed. He says that we are saved by grace through faith and not by one or the other. Think about it a little - Grace is what God does, faith is what we do. You need both sets to receive salvation. Much emphasis on grace and others focus on faith. But very few focus on the balance between grace and faith. It a bit like chloride and sodium. Taken individually, these are two poisons that can kill you. Mixed together, it becomes salt it takes to live. Grace without a positive response of faith will not save you. And the faith that does not respond to the grace of God will bring conviction. But put your faith in what God has already done for you and you will have the victory that overcomes the world.
